Orange Jonny was created in 2012 after two brothers got together with the intention of forming a band and taking older brother Nick Harper’s songs out to the public domain. Nick had spent several years writing with and touring as front man for Milton Keynes based rock band Duke Of Marmalade and with them boasted many achievements including working at Paul Weller’s recording studio and headlining festivals up and down the country. He made the decision to move on and immediately started writing with his brother Logan ‘The Bear’ Harper on bass.

The brothers had the songs, the experience and the swagger and all they needed was a member for the drum stool. They found this in international drummer ‘Killer’ Kev Hickman who’s individual style and passion immediately gelled with the band and with Logan on bass the two found a dirty and grinding rhythm section heaven. Hickman’s previous accomplishments include tours through Europe and the Americas, several albums with various artists and live and recorded performances with members of Deep Purple, Robert Plant’s band and Magnum.

Their E.P “Switch on the Light” features four songs of the Orange Jonny repertoire, ‘Switch on the Light’, ‘Beg, Steal or Borrow’, ‘Wake up the Sun’ and ‘Heavy Handed Words’. Released March 8th to rave reviews from fans and the press, the songs are honest stories about life and the hardships that come with it. Songwriter Nick Harper has a wealth of life experience that comes through in these carefully sculpted songs.
